The 4Hrs filmmaker challenge is an exciting opportunity for filmmakers to grow and really stretch their skills. Buccaneer Pictures participates in the 48Hrs Filmmaker Challenge every year.
In a nutshell, a team has 48hrs to 1) Write 2) Shoot 3) Edit and 4) Deliver a finished short film.
Each year a theme is chosen that all the films must fall under. To throw in some curve-balls and really make you think outside the box, the challenge requires certain elements to be part of every film entry.
These elements are:
1) A Character name.
This name is given to you and must be included somehow. Either an actual character in your film, or "mentioned" in the film.
2) A Prop.
This prop must be included somehow in your film.
3) A line of dialogue.
Every year a line of dialog from a film that is in the theme of the festival is chosen and must somehow be included in your characters lines.
4) Genre is pulled from a hat!
Yes you read that right. Each team will draw a slip of paper from a hat that has their genre listed on it. That will be recorded by the administrators and must be followed.
5) Time limit: 6 Minutes.
This is a HARD timeline and includes credits.
